Constellations* is an audiovisual installation
The images and videos exposed are graphic representations of a sound spectrum, called sonagram. It is the result of a spectral analysis, which is a representation of the distribution of amplitudes (energies) in the different frequency bands constituting a sound signal.
Le son analysé est du bruit rose filtré diversement selon une suite de Fibonacci dont les deux premiers termes sont deux hauteurs musicales avec un intervalle de quarte. Cette suite constitue, après calcul, les bandes de fréquences à appliquer pour le filtrage (cf. rubrique Calcul & Synthèse)
It is possible to launch the videos in several ways.
- Une simple lecture du son correspondant à chaque sonagramme
- A continuous polyphony playing with dynamics (the amplitude of the different audio sources).
- A random play: An acoustic discovery.
- A programmed sound playback according to a temporal score: An audiovisual arrangement.
